Opinions are like assholes. Everyone's got at least one.

They are all over television, radio and now the Internet. The 24/7 cable news shows are less about what is actually going on in the world and more about what the talking heads think about what is going on in the world. As if we need to hear from more morons, they make the shows interactive, asking viewers to weigh in on what they think about affairs of state.

Viewers. Talk radio audiences. Internet bloggers. Bloggees. Viewees.

And not just in the "west". Now anyone with internet access, or who knows how to turn on a cellphone, or point and shoot a camera feels all powerful, to either add to the paparrazi noise and humiliate a famous person, or wage a campaign of hate and violence against other people.

Just who are these people? Especially the people who think that they were born to kill, maim and destroy the lives of other people. Do they wake up one day and say, "Today is the day I will make my neighbors lives miserable for the rest of their time on this planet"?

Every day the news is full of these suicide bombers, child abductors/rapists/killers, military industrial complex life destroyers, self-appointed messiahs, and experts on what is right for the rest of us, and those of us who don't agree should be lined up and shot.

Martin Luther King, Jr. dreamt that one day people would no longer be judged by the color of their skin, but rather by the content of their character.

I have a dream that people will one day realize that our opinions and judgments about one another are irrelevant. Then we will not judge either based on skin color or character.

When we finally accept the fact that what people think about us and what we think about other people does not matter, maybe we will stop trying to destroy those people we don't approve of, agree with, accept or tolerate.

That's my dream but for now, I live in this nightmare world of hate.

People hate because they under the delusion that they are superior. Today the world spins around a core of hatred rationalized as being about religion, which spread out to political differences, socioeconomic disparities, sexuality, ethnicity, and where we live, lived, or would like to live.

People living under the delusion of superiority say:

"My god is better than your god,
even though we both believe
there is only one god."

"My way of life is better than your way of life,
and anyone who doesn't believe me should
not have the right to exist."

"My love is better than your love,
so your love is not worthy of the same
rights as mine."

Where I live, in the United States, we have a constitution. Each state has a constitution. The U.S. constitution amended away conditional equality, yet there are people who would like to add conditions back into the constitution. They have successfully regressed many state constitutions to include amendments declaring that those states rights are conditional, based on the approval, acceptance or tolerance of the tyrannical majority. They call them marriage amendments, giving special rights to heterosexuals. These heterosupremacists believe that only they get to decide who is worthy of America's rights. They think that "we the people of the United States of America" applies only to them.

The opinions and essays in my web page reflect what is possible in the world.

The more things change the more things change.
